My feelings on today

I made this poster design today, after having a tutorial this morning that was slightly depressing. I am not very good at putting my point across, and sometimes I don't take criticism very well, especially if it is something I feel quite uncertain of myself. This project makes me feel like a bit of a douche bag, I don't like writing about myself and most of the points I have made make me sound like a dick. Ah well! As I see it there are two choices: Keep working at it, or get pissed! Hmmm....

I have been struggling to get my ideas together for this first uni brief. I want to have some diverse outcomes, not just a stack of paper prints as usual. Ideally I would like to make a zine, some poster designs, maybe some wallpaper/repeat patterns, a pile of badges and a t-shirt design. But I doubt all that will happen in a week. At the very least I want to produce a zine and hand draw some stuff for a repeat pattern. This is a bit of experimentation I did with our sewing machine. It started out as me checking whether I would be able to use it to stitch the spine of my zine and morphed into me wiggling bits of paper under the needle and seeing what happened. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, I will try and do some more experimentation with this. It adds a nice bit of texture to an otherwise flat image. Although it's not exactly original. Meh!

a short clip of video giving an idea of the animation I want to create for the summer project. I'm thinking of changing the time values for the animation, and playing multiple clips within one video, kinda inception stylie. Hopefully when it's done it will make more sense than I do.

summer project? hmmm...

the beginnings of an idea for the summer project. I'm looking at ambigrams again - with a focus on card faces.   Hopefully something will come of it. Might still try and create a short animation with the 3d stuff I was working on too.
